Cerebiome®, a proprietary combination of L. helveticus Rosell®-52 and B. longum Rosell®-175 is a unique and strongly documented psychobiotic formulation developed by the Rosell® Institute for Microbiome and Probiotics by Lallemand. It is the most documented psychobiotic, supported by five clinical studies and over ten mechanistic studies, highlighting eight mechanisms of action on the brain-gut axis.

It has been demonstrated that Cerebiome® helps to moderate psychological and physiological responses to occasional stress by a variety of mechanisms, including but not limited to the modulation of neurotransmitters synthesis (serotonin-tryptophan), positively impacting behavior, supporting a healthy brain structure, modulation of the hypothalamic–pituitary–adrenal (HPA) axis, and modulation of the vagus nerve.

Combining psychobiotics with botanicals

It is now possible to get the best of both worlds in a unique, documented, and powerful combination for mental wellness and emotional balance. Cerebiome® and the Safr’Inside™ encapsulated saffron extract offer complementary actions to enhance mood and manage occasional stress. This combination was created by Lallemand Health Solutions in partnership with Activ’Inside.

Clinical results and mechanisms of actions of Cerebiome® and Safr’inside™ are distinct but complementary. Both ingredients have tested successfully on occasional stress symptoms and the biological markers cortisol and serotonin.  The compatibility has also been scientifically confirmed by in vitro compatibility test and a real time stability study. A consumer study on the combination was conducted under medical supervision, to run a dedicated clinical trial in the future. A hundred healthy volunteers, 50% women and 50% men, were provided the Cerebiome® and Safr’inside™ combination for 30 days. At baseline and at the end of the study, an assessment was conducted by a medical practitioner collecting results of the satisfaction questionnaire and the PSS, a validated questionnaire to assess stress.

After 30 days intake:

  • 96% of consumer’s reported a reduction on daily stress
  • 91% of participants were willing to recommend the product
