Gabapral®

Overview

Gabapral® is a food supplement containing the probiotic strain Bifidobacterium adolescentis PRL2019 that, in a recent study investigating more than 1000 bacterial strains, was found to be the one with the greatest ability to produce the neurotransmitter GABA in the gut. Indeed, in the in vivo study, it led to a doubling of the concentration of GABA in the intestine of the treated subjects.
The ability to produce GABA is due to the fact that the genome of B. breve PRL2019 entails several gadB and gadC genes that are used precisely for the production of this crucial neurotransmitter. For this reason, Gabapral® can be used to mprove IBS, stress, anxiety and insomnia.
